a glimpse into the past

These lovely old stone buildings in Stanwick, steeped in history, were lost to us, between 1960 and 1990

Stanwick House was demolished following a fire.  Many people think it could have been restored quite easily.

Stanwick Water mill was demolished as it was superfluous to requirements with the prospect of gravel extraction on its lands.  The Mill was not just a Water mill grinding corn for animal feed, it had also been a working farm.

Hill House became the victim of  property developers, and was allowed to deteriorate until it was in such a bad condition that there was no alternative but to demolish it.
